I've recently noticed some serious symptoms of an illness which cannot be treated.Maybe it's not malignant but it's still serious. No laughing matter....It certainly is not a cancer though you could call it that way...Not AIDS, not TB and certainly not a cold.
to accept the real truth it's really not an illness but some kind of unwindable long process in your life. It's called "

growing up

".
That sounded kind of scary and evil, yet you cannot ward off "growing up" as you can ward off vampires by garlic, and spirits by holy words.

Well, you can't ward it off at all. It just comes with you, walks with you. eats with you, sleeps with you, loo with you, studies with you and do almost everything you do.
and as Abraham Lincoln said

“You have to do your own growing no matter how tall your grandfather was."

The signs I have noticed that we ARE grown up or maybe closer to grown up are.....
1) The frock which was perfect yesterday is a little bit tighter today and the hem has grown shorter.
2) The shoes have become smaller.

3) You feel that children under you age are really small and they are really too short for their age
4) You feel that it's your responsibility to lead the young ones on.
6) You get interested in politics (Maybe not a true statement but you feel a little but interested about it. Maybe even a 0.00000001 feeling but till you are interested than before......just think about it)
7)People listen to you when you speak and thay don'tt shout "CHILDREN ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SEEN NOT HEARRDDDD...DO YOU HEAR ME STUPPID CHILDD!!!"
8) When an adult accidentally calls you baba(in sinhala) or little girly, child, patiyo or something they call small children with people around you starts to laugh or give looks which means I-Don't-Think-She-Is- Supposed-To-Be-Called-By-That-This -Is-Really-A-Butter-Factory.
8) You don't get your extra large piece of cake in special occasions and rare leftover days. The bonus you had is now parts of another bonus parts in someone else's plate.(And that lucky winner is someone younger than you)
9) You can sign up for Myspace.(just try it if you are above 17)
10) You can stay up late until everyone sleeps and you don't feel scared. Just a little bit assertive.
11)Your school teacher starts to call you a big child, and that you must do your own work by yourself.
12) You feel pity towards the small children on regard of passing all those grades and sitting for all those exams.
13)You feel happy you have done the past exams and relief that you don't have to do them again.
14) When you see someone younger than you involved in an affair you feel it is silly, but still you had one when you were even younger than that person in subject.
15) You see the literacy of books, films, songs, movies and sayings etc. and even simple happenings like the rainbow and the sun all in one picture.
16) You question the real meaning of life
18) You wanna learn more about the religion.(except for people who are secularized)
19) You don't wanna hear your mother's or father's opinion about things, you wanna do as you feel because what you do, think, talk act and behave is the correct and instyle way. The other ways are totally uncool.
20) When you look at the past child photos you cannot believe you were that small, and you get that yearning tug in your heart, the tug which wants to take you back to the past. And it's always funny looking at your baby pics.
21) You feel you are mature.
So that's what i came up with. I listed down the symptoms as well as i could. maybe i missed something, maybe not. but still if you fell i have done wrong in describing the symptoms or maybe there are symptoms i missed please be kind enough to comment and let me know.
May be you might feel growing up is a burden but you cannot chase off being growing up

 ... just remember that
"A grownup is a child with layers on.”
~Woody Harrelson~
the worst side of growing up is yet to come
Here are some of my favorite quotes on growing up
"Growing up is never easy. You hold on to things that were. You wonder what's to come. But that night, I think we knew it was time to let go of what had been, and look ahead to what would be. Other days. New days. Days to come. The thing is, we didn't have to hate each other for getting older. We just had to forgive ourselves... for growing up.”
~The Wonder Years~
“If your gonna screw up, do it while you're young. Older you get, the harder it is to bounce back.”
~Winston Groom~
“Too many people grow up. That's the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up. They forget. They don't remember what it's like to be 12 years old. They patronize, they treat children as inferiors. Well I won't do that.”
~Walt Disney~
“We grow neither better nor worse as we get old, but more like ourselves”
~May Lamberton Becker~
There's so much more in growing up that we don't see through our naked eyes. We are grown ups or growing ups, but still, we are not adults. Young adults, yes. But adults? No thanks.
If you think somethings must be added to this list please let me know.

Meet you later
with love
